Vision to Reality: Evolving a Global Brand

2023

In 2023, I led a fantastic team at InfoBeans, a global digital transformation company specializing in designing, building, and managing digital applications. Our goal was to enhance our brand image, and we accomplished this by updating our guidelines, visual identity, messaging, and design system. We also gave our presentation decks and website a complete revamp, which was a challenging but highly satisfying project for all of us.

Capital One Spark Business

Changing Small Business Banking

2017

In 2016 I was a principal design consultant that developed and launched Capital One’s Spark Business product that helped small businesses manage their finances and banking needs. The main objectives I had an impact on were the following:

  • Designing the onboarding experience for first time user
  • Designing core product features including invoicing and payments
  • Reviewing research insights and sharing with the team
  • Defining customer personas based on qualitative research
  • Creating blue sky concepts for web app and marketing site
  • Defining and maintaining product design system and style guide
  • Establishing better design processes and efficiencies for cross-functional teams

The goals were myriad, but as a design consultant, I was flexible and met these challenges with passion and dedication, and successfully elevated the product team to achieve a successful launch.

We threw a lot of complicated stuff at Robert and he was able to turn it around quickly.

Grio Website

A Strategic Online Presence

2017

Grio is a design and development studio in San Francisco. As design director at the studio I led the redesign of the studio’s website in 2017, which was concurrent with a rebranding effort. The design goals were multifold:

  • Elevate our professional online presence
  • Effectively communicate our services, value, and benefits
  • Create an emotional connection with our target audience
  • Utilize marketing strategies to generate leads
  • Differentiate Grio from our competitors
  • Showcase our new brand identity

I led a cross functional team through all phases of the project, conducted workshops to generate ideas and create alignment, experimented and defined brand identity elements, developed concepts, produced visual mockups, and even did some front-end development.

RingCentral

Optimizing the Buyer's Journey

2022

From 2018 to 2022, I held a hybrid role at RingCentral, a cloud communication and collaboration provider, serving as a Senior UX Designer, Researcher, and Strategist. I collaborated with cross-functional teams to enhance the buyers’ journey and optimize RingCentral’s marketing website. I tackled the following key objectives and design challenges:

  • Streamlined the buyers’ journey
  • Clarified product offerings
  • Enhanced content strategy for better engagement
  • Boosted lead generation and sign-up conversion
  • Simplified wayfinding and information architecture
  • Led the site redesign to align with re-branding efforts
  • Established an atomic design system for efficiency and consistency
  • Improved site performance and speed

Additionally, I championed inclusive research and design, utilized data-driven insights for strategic decisions (what I term design intelligence), and fostered a culture of experimentation, encouraging innovative approaches and calculated risks.
